About Artists Break The Pause (ABTP)

Artists Break the Pause is the seventh incarnation of Red Room’s recurring ABT_ series, in which we use live art to draw attention to and raise money for important causes by bringing people together around live painting. Previous ABT_ events include Artists Break the Flood (2009) which raised money for Typhoon Morakot relief; Artists Bridge the Gap (2016, 2017, 2019) supporting various social and political causes, including gender equality, protection of war refugees, and school building in remote areas of the planet; amongst other important causes.

Artists Break the Pause is an all day event bringing together live art and music from across the island for the purpose of bridging gaps between international communities and creating opportunities for those in need.

Witness the vulnerable art of creation as painters paint from morning to late afternoon, with a Silent Auction of the paintings created that day. Each of our programmes exemplify the Red Room’s Culture of Listening.

This is our seventh ABT_ Event!

A Traveling Exhibition in celebration of International Women’s Day (March 8, 2021) and Beyond

Red Room is excited to announce our collaboration with Women Beyond Borders. WBB is a non-profit, cross-cultural exhibition of women connecting women from all walks of life within and beyond their communities across the globe via a small, wooden box. Women from internationally known artists to women with no prior artistic experience, everywhere from Argentina to Zambia, have transformed these wooden boxes into a repository that contains a story from the artist.
