Roma Mehta, ABTF 2

The Living Canvas is everywhere, in all medium and in many forms. As a child growing up in Calcutta, India, I learned from one of the old masters of classical Indian art. He taught me to see any surface as a potential canvas, from a dried leaf to an old discarded piece of wood. I painted on surfaces of fabric, asbestos sheets, wood panels, clay and on anything that came my way. I continue to create art in my free time. My art work is a collection of episodes that afford glimpses into moments of clarity and have been essential in my journey.

Tim Joel

Tim Joel

British artist Timothy Nathan Joel began oil painting in 2000 while living in a beach hut in South Thailand. His eye for composition originated from his love for travel, first venturing off alone with a sketch book and black ink pens at the age of 16. Tim honed this skill by designing storyboards for productions during a BA Honors degree course in photography and film.

After extensive travel and work experience Tim moved to Taiwan in 2002, where he continues life as an artist, developing his own style
and signing his works JOEL. Tim can be found creating original works at his home/studio on a mountain beside the ocean in Xingchang, Taitung County.
JOEL is currently represented by two galleries in the UK and his works are now in collections all over the world.

I was born and raised in Taiwan. Studied art in school and later on started studying fashion design. Although, I’m studying fashion design at the moment but I am still working hard on my artwork. I don’t have a certain style for my artwork. It changes depend on the mood at the time. Mostly importantly, I enjoy the moment of creating.
