ARTIST BIO

Pragya is a self-taught mixed media artist. She started playing with colors at the age of 5. Art is symphony of her life and her self expression. Through her art she likes to discover her boundless inner creativity and passion, as she constantly strives to communicate her inner self through it.

Pragya’s current work of art on watercolor paper and canvas is about women and nature. It focuses on the journey of being a woman and how everything about nature inspires her to keep doing what she loves.

She believes women need to be themselves in all the phases of life irrespective of what they are asked to be. They should embrace their imperfection because it makes them who they are.

Through her art, Pragya has tried to push herself to explore new boundaries. She hopes to inspire people to pursue their passion. Magic happens when you don’t give up even though you want to. The universe always falls in love with a stubborn heart.

“透過繪畫，我把自己一一拼整回來，表達一則則烙印在心裡的故事。”Ting Wei Huang 就讀美國洛杉磯時尚設計學院主修時尚設計，並在2015年赴義大利佛羅倫斯Polimoda 服裝設計與行銷管理學院進修。Ting Wei的繪畫就像一篇篇的日記，藉由顏色的變化與柔軟的線條來敍說故事

Ting Wei Huang studied at FIDM in Los Angeles, USA, and majored in Fashion Design. In 2015, Ting Wei moved abroad and attended Polimoda Fashion Institute in Florence, Italy, and majored in fashion design. Ting Wei’s paintings are portrayed through the style of journal entries. She tells stories through changing color shades and elegant lines.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Ting Wei Huang作品傾向於傳達自我探討的意義與意象。擅長放大細微的感覺，抽象具體繁雜的內容，擁抱這份觸動，在創作裡享受著，跳舞與歌唱… 從小就愛繪畫的她, 藉由繪畫藝術傳達如何面對自己、了解自己，進而接受自己的過程。透過反覆動作的描繪手筆，不斷產生矛盾與掙扎，勾勒出她內心深處那些想被看見的輪廓。Ting Wei希望她的藝術作品可帶給人們一份喘息和沈澱的空間，靜下來去感受與擁抱生命中的美好。
Ting Wei Huang’s works are based on introspection. From abstract concepts to concrete stories, the content of her paintings consistently brings forth a variety of intricate details. While indulging in dancing and singing, the pure enjoyment lies within each creating process. Ting Wei found her love and passion in painting since a young age. The art of painting and creating provides a leeway for Ting Wei to dive into self-acceptance, self-understanding, and eventually, self-affirmation. Through her paintings she has tried to reflect her different feelings from happiness to struggle, she hopes that her work of art can make people embrace the real beauty of life.

Red Room presents the twelfth of our Sunday Afternoon Open Studio series!!

Welcome all:
Writers, poets, photographers, painters, sculptors, comedians, filmmakers, juggler, musicians, songwriters, dancers, designers. All artists and creatives welcome! Develop and play with ideas, or utilize this opportunity for second opinions on your work in progresses.

💥💥 ::: SPECIAL POP=UP WORKSHOP BY Fondlesss 黯飾 :::

Fondlesss主理人Grace將帶領大家使用帆布與來自印度的手工木板印花。活動當日將會準備印花章與帆布，也會有各種不同顏色供選擇，也可帶自己的布料或是帆布袋，可蓋上我們提供的圖騰來創造自己喜歡的方式！（報名費用：新台幣600元）

Join us for a day of block printing and fabric painting workshop, hosted by Grace Hsu from fondlesss. This workshop will take place on June 18th Sunday at Redroom. During this workshop, we will have blocks with patterns and canvas available for you to print on and markers and fabric paints to create beautiful patterns. You are also welcome to bring your own fabrics and tote bags. (Includes all materials NTD.600)

Ages 18+ welcome.

This is a workshop hosted within Redroom’s open studio event. If you are not coming to the workshop and just want to hang out, please feel free. But we would like to remind you to respect those practicing/working on their art form.

The bar and cash register will be closed – so please bring some beverages and snacks to share. Sharing is caring!

Please inbox us to ask if you are uncertain about how appropriate the art form/materials you’d be bringing would be suitable for the shared space. Of course, power tools are discouraged (safety + noise), and fire is not allowed on the premises (sorry, metal-workers!).

紅坊星期天下午舉辦第十一場「開放藝術工作室」系列活動

用社區精神分享紅坊空間，共同創作。請帶任何形式的作品，想法，我們一起努力！

歡迎各位：
作家，詩人，攝影師，畫家，雕塑家，喜劇演員，電影製片人，魔術師，音樂家，曲作家，舞者，設計師。所有藝術和設計有關的都歡迎！也可以利用這個機會聽聽別人的意見，彼此勉勵成長。
如果你不想做工作的東西，只是想聚一聚，也非常歡迎！但是我們想提醒你請尊重那些在精進藝術造詣的朋友，不要打擾到他們。
我們當天有兩項活動：

－ 繪畫塗色 （材料提供）

我們邀請藝術家來分享他們的作品，讓大家一起討論，交換想法。每個藝術家請不要帶超過1-2個作品，我們這樣才有時間讓大家都有機會參與。
這是一個免費的活動 。酒吧和收銀機並不會用到 – 所以，請帶些飲料和小吃分享。共享和關懷！
如果你不確定你要表現藝術形式和材料適不適當的話，可以直接詢問我們。這個活動沒辦法使用電動工具（安全+噪音）及需要用火的工作（對不起，金屬工人！）。

Our entrance is located on the intersection of Jianguo S. Rd. and Jinan Rd. (TAF side entrance). After passing the gate, keep marching forward and you’ll see a white building to your left called Library. Make your way to the second floor via the outer staircase on the side.

Travel by MRT:［Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station Exit 6］Walk straight along XinSheng S. Road , then turn left on Jinan Road Sec. 2 , continue down and you’ll spot the entrance.
